On Saturday, April 30 from 5 – 8 pm, the Waimea Arts Council will sponsor a community potluck celebration to honor Aunt Betty becoming a Guinness World Records holder for her collection of over 1,500 pair of sunglasses. It will be held at the Hawaiian Homelands Hall in Waimea on Mamalahoa Highway. Over 600 volunteers came into the Firehouse Gallery last March to have their pictures taken wearing a pair of her sunglasses – this provided necessary documentation for the record. Now it is time to celebrate her success and honor this lady who brings smiles to everyone she meets.
Click on this poster to get all the details! Everyone is asked to bring a dish and their own plate and utensils so that we can make this a truly “green” event. Cake will be provided.
