Hawaii island artists are invited to enter the 40th Annual Founders Juried Art Show at Kamuela’s Firehouse Gallery will be held in October and sponsored by the Waimea Arts Council.
This popular annual juried art show is open to current and new members of the Waimea Arts Council. Membership is open to all adults 18 & older. Exhibition dates for this show are October 3-27, 2024.
This year’s invited juror is artist and educator Gordon Motta, a master potter who has been producing unique and distinctive art pottery for over 50 years. He traveled the California art fair circuit for six years, developing his style of usable art before returning to his native Big Island. He settled on family land in Ahualoa where he has fired his kiln regularly since 1974.
All art mediums are welcome in this show. Cash awards will be announced at the reception on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Please note that a non-refundable entry fee of $20 per entry is due when entering the works in person. Due to space limitations at the Firehouse Gallery, the maximum size for any entry is 36 x 36 inches. Artwork must be submitted in person at the Firehouse Gallery, 67-1201 Mamalahoa Hwy., Kamuela, HI, between 11 am and 3 pm on Saturday or Sunday, September 28 or 29.
