Waimea Arts Council invites Hawaii Island Artists to enter the themed show “Celebrating National Trails Day and the Glory of Trees” at the Firehouse Gallery which runs May 5 – June 25, 2023.
Who: This art show is open to all Big Island adults 18 years and older. All media accepted that addresses the theme of celebrating our Big Island Trails and/or the Glory of Trees on our Big Island.
Entries: You may enter one piece which must be available for sale. Works must be original. No prints or reproductions with the exception of photographs. (If you are a member of Waimea Arts Council, you may enter up to 3 pieces.)
The maximum size for entry including frame is 36”x36” or an equivalent 1296 square inches. Artwork must be ready for installation- including suitable frames with a lengthwise wire for hanging, bases or mounts as required. Artist’s sale price should factor in a donation/commission to WAC of 50%. (If you are a member of Waimea Arts Council, your donation/commission will depend upon your docent and volunteer hours.)
Works must be submitted at the Firehouse Gallery, 67-1201 Mamalahoa Hwy., between the hours of 11am -3pm on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 & 30. Entries must be subsequently approved by the WAC Gallery Committee in order to be hung for the show. Artists with works not accepted will be contacted to pick the artwork up.
Those works accepted to be hung will be on display for viewing and purchase in the Firehouse Gallery May 5-June 25. You may pick up unsold pieces on June 25 at 11am- 3pm. Pieces left after 30 days will be considered abandoned and will be considered a donation to WAC.
The Waimea Arts Council will handle all work with the utmost of care; however artists will be responsible for the liability of their art and will hold WAC and the County of Hawaii harmless.
Artists may join the Waimea Arts Council for extended benefits depending on the level of entry.
