The Waimea Arts Council and Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library are offering a community art class on Coiled Clay Vessels. Artist Lorrie Taylor hosts the next session on Saturday April 5 from 10 am – noon in the Thelma Parker Memorial public library meeting room.
In this class, beginning artists ages 10+ will learn how to create a small bowl or vase using the coiling method. Coiling has been used for thousands of years and is thought to be one of the first ways of constructing clay vessels.
Lorrie Taylor will be instructing and available for technique advice as students dive into their projects. Art materials are provided by the Waimea Arts Council.
Space is limited so register in advance by calling 808-887-6067
