May 30 – June 23, 2018
The artists at the Fire house Gallery in Waimea are drawing inspiration from the recent volcanic eruptions of Kilauea volcano and how Madame Pele is intertwined into the Hawaiian Culture. On the Big Island, we live on four volcanoes: Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, Hualalai and Kilauea. We can only stand in awe before the power of an eruption as the Hawaiian people have done for centuries. Be assured Madame Pele has inspired art and culture for a long time.
The public is invited to see a colorful collection of fine art photography and original paintings created by local artists of volcanoes, lava flows. Hawaiian landscapes, Hawaiian figures such as King Kamehameha, Hawaiian flowers, Hula, and leis.
A reception is open to the public on Sunday June 10 from 3 pm to 5 pm in honor of King Kamehameha Day, which is June 11.
