January 2 – 26
During the month of January, the Firehouse Gallery will feature an exhibit of the works of the newest artist members of the Waimea Arts Council. All are accomplished in their medium and we are delighted to welcome them to our organization.
Angela Andrecoff, a contemporary artist, creates most of her art using acrylic paint or oil pastels.
David Blevins is a wood crafter and often
uses koa wood scraps to make his amazing quality boxes and other wood creations.
Carolyn Dierickx creates fashionable earrings and necklaces in sterling silver and gold using real gemstones and Swarovski crystals.
Kimberly Horn creates unique beaded bracelets, leis and other jewelry.
Joshua Gerbert’s painting style is distinctive. His use of vivid and brightly colorful acrylic paintings are mostly of Hawaiian nature.
Susan Grant works mostly in transparent watercolor, with botanicals and animals being among her favorite subjects.
Sui Lan Gomez works mostly in pastels and occasionally in watercolor or colored pencils. She has an affinity for drawing animals but is also enamored with the beauty of Hawai’i and enjoys drawing and painting plants and animals of Hawai’i.
And last but not least, the Arts Council has gained four very talented photographers in Shirley De Rego, Keahi Incillio, Peter French and Robert Shallenberger.
There will be a reception for the artists at the Firehouse Gallery on Saturday, January 5 from 3-5 pm. Friends and the public are cordially invited.
