Firehouse Gallery presents Patterns, Textures & Reflections, an exhibition exploring the aesthetics of texture & pattern in our natural world and communities. Patterns are found everywhere in nature, from branching and spirals to cracks, spots, waves, even crystals, often described as sacred geometry. Texture is perceived surface quality of a work of art through the sense of touch, or visually or both. Reflection is open to wide interpretations from mirroring back an image to personal thoughts and insights. Join us in a show open to artistic interpretation with these motifs that visual artists have been exploring for centuries.
During the show, the public is invited to participate in the community weaving project. Gallery guests will pick yarns or threads and hand weave on the wall mounted loom. We encourage the community to stop by during the months of April and May to see how the weaving progresses.
Firehouse Gallery is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11-3 and whenever the flags out front are flying. It is located at 67-1201 Mamalahoa Hwy., Kamuela, Hawaii. For questions, email: waimeaartscouncil@gmail.com or visit www.WaimeaArtsCouncil.org.
