The Waimea Arts Council’s new show at The Firehouse Gallery features Big Island artists’ interpretations of island trails and trees. “Celebrating National Trails Day & The Glory of Trees” includes fine art photographs, paintings, sculpture, ceramics and other creations by local artists and runs from May 5 to June 23, 2023.
“Wilderness lures us toward its calming yet exciting charms” states Daniel Konigsberg, Gallery Director. “Hiking new and old trails in exploration of ourselves/companions while appreciating the serenity and beauty that nature brings is a treasured feature of life on The Big Island. The jacarandas are blooming. The African Tulip trees paint the wilds orange, and the Rainbow Shower trees are soon to burst with glory!”
The Firehouse Gallery is located at 67-1201 Mamalahoa Highway, Kamuela, housed in the old firehouse on the Waimea Historic Corner Park. The gallery is open Friday through Sunday from 11-3 and whenever the flags out front are flying!
